The video is twelve minutes interview with David Batstone, author of "Not for Sale", who talks about human trafficking among America. At least 200,000 women are the victims of human trafficking and it is not just immigrant who have to deal with the trafficking problem but rather the entire US citizens are vulnerable to this illigal sex industry. Some people trick women in third country for American dream (money and education) to lure them to America. But when they do come, people incharge immediately take away the Visa and passports and force women, mostly teenagers, to work. There seems to be a pattern to this trafficking process, that in first 24 hours the women get physically abused to let them know that they are slaves and the guys own them. After giving physical pressures and brain washes, they then lead women to sex industry. Because of the shamefulness that the women feel from themselves, their minds are distorted. By this time, they are mentally chained to the sex industry. And for some cultures, because of what the women had done, they are not welcomed to come back.
Shockingly, more than half of the human trafficking relates to sex industry and the rest of the trafficked women and children are forced to work in restorants and hotels.
The author also tells how women are being completely controlled and how human trafficking is closely related our daily lives. He also talks about how to distinguish women being traffick and are not.
When we do see one, it is not safe and right to act as a one person or individually but rather contact Health and Human Services (federal agency) by calling 888-7373-888.
