Haesun: Ghosts

Ghosts is a film directed by Nick Broomfield. It is about a Chinese mother who comes to the UK to earn money for the family. Before she came, she was filled with hopes of becoming wealthy and going back to China with a lot of money. However, when she arrived, the situations were horrible. She was not treated well; she was forced to work 24/7 and later, was put into sex slavery. The film has more of a documentary feel than a movie. Personally, I think that is more effective in showing the harshness of the lives of those involved in human trafficking. Despite the fact that it lacks excitement or fun, it is a very good piece in revealing what's really happening to the victims of human trafficking. It probably is not going to draw a lot of audience because of that, but it has more to offer than the other movies dealing with human trafficking.
