Michael Cory Davis is an actor/director who has been actively promoting a campaign against human trafficking. In the above link, he talks about his film, named "Svetlana's Journey". The film is about a girl in Hungary who was sold into slavery. The director Michael Davis had met the girl in real life, and decided to make a film about her experience. In this CNN interview, he expresses strong opposition to human trafficking, especially of young girls. He was introduced to Bulgarian girls who had been human trafficked by Bulgarian organization in 2003. One of the girls he met was Svetlana. Michael Davis had every intention of making a fim about her and letting the world know about the atrocities. He held fundraisers, talked to the victims, and he even showed the film to the girls in Bulgaria. Since the film was very graphic in the way that the topic it dealt with was rape and sex slavery, concerns had been risen, but Davis says that the movie itself is their lives, that they all are fully aware of the situations.
This interview is a very acurate and useful source in studying the intentions of the director and the thoughts he had when making the film "Sevtlana's Journey". First of all, the interview had been arranged bt CNN, a reputable news station and secondly, because we are hearing the words of the director directly from him, it becomes a more reliable source. However, a shortcoming of this source is that the interview had taken place most focusing on the film, not the issue of human trafficking itself.
